Taliban significantly leaps in Afghanistan

Kabul : The Taliban attacks in the last 12 hours killed 25 people in Afghanistan. The dead include five people who lost their lives in the attack carried out at a wedding event in Kabul. Moreover, the attack in Ghor province killed 20 Afghan soldiers. In the last four days, the death toll of Afghan soldiers due to Taliban attacks is over 100. In the previous two months, the Taliban has captured 17 Afghan provinces, as per the news that surfaced. This expansion of the Taliban in Afghanistan during the US military withdrawal draws significant attention.

Out of these, the Afghan army-Taliban conflict is going on in over 180 districts. Moreover, the Taliban has captured over 80 districts, and the Afghan government still controls 130 districts. In the last two months, the Taliban attacks have intensified. Besides, the Afghan army is finding it difficult to counter the Taliban in Badghis province.

As per the Afghan news agency report, in the last 24 hours, the Taliban captured Tolak and Zare district in Afghanistan. Of these, 20 soldiers died in the conflict in Tolak district, and many were injured. Apart from this, the news agency informed that the Taliban abducted ten Afghan soldiers. Moreover, the defence system did not reach the Zare district on time. Hence, the Taliban instantly captured the region, informed the Afghan defence ministry.

Thus, the death toll of Afghan soldiers seems to be immense in this conflict. Moreover, the attacks happen on alternate days in Kabul. Five were abducted from a wedding event in Paghman district, Kabul and slain later. The local police authorities accused the Taliban to be responsible for this incident. The Afghan army has also been retaliating against the Taliban. In the last 24 hours, 152 Taliban militants were slain in action taken by the Afghan military across 14 districts, claimed the Afghan foreign ministry.

Meanwhile, on Saturday, the Taliban newly warned the NATO-member countries in a handbill it published. Taliban warned that Afghans are responsible for the security of airports and the embassy in Afghanistan; so, the foreign army must not stay in Afghanistan. Moreover, Turkey had proposed to deploy its military for the security of Kabul international airport, post-withdrawal of US and NATO army. However, once again Taliban clarified that NATO-member Turkey would not be given a chance for it.
