Taliban leader Anas Haqqani spews venom against India

New Delhi – Taliban announced to remain alienated from the Kashmir issue and said they expect a good relationship with India. However, the real face of Taliban has been exposed as their leader, Anas Haqqani, spewed venom against India through his social media account. Haqqani expressed his hatred for India while visiting Mahmud Ghaznavi’s tomb, who devastated the Somnath Temple in the 10th century.

Taliban, Taliban leader, India, Haqqani network, Kashmir issue,While negotiating to form a government in Afghanistan, Anas Haqqani, leader of Taliban and the Haqqani Network, gave a message to India; although India has immensely helped their enemy in the last 20 years, the Taliban is willing to start afresh and cooperate with India. He assured India that the Taliban would not interfere in Kashmir and Pakistan would not influence his organisation. Haqqani claimed that the Taliban does not have the policy to interfere in another country.

Once the Taliban took over Afghanistan, some analysts advised India to establish a dialogue with Taliban. Discussions were happening that India could not neglect Taliban’s proposal, given Haqqani’s assurance. However, it seems that India’s cautious approach was justified, as Anas Haqqani’s statement spewed venom against India.

The Taliban government was desperate to get recognition from India and is still appealing to India to continue providing aid to the Afghan people. But evidently, Taliban has not given up on terrorism and terrorism seems to be the national policy of the new Afghan government. Thus, India cannot trust Taliban, as the Haqqani group, the strongest faction of Taliban, is acting at the behest of Pakistan.

Meanwhile, India also gave a vitriolic reply to Haqqani’s comments. It pointed out that the cities built by these predatory kings like Ghaznavi and Taimoor are in dire straits, but the Somnath Temple stands with all its glory. While Anas Haqqani issued inciting statements against India, there are reports of a provoking attack on the Sikh Gurudwara in Afghanistan. Therefore, the possibility of Taliban getting recognition and support from India has been ruled out. At the same time, there is an emerging solid possibility of a group of Taliban leaders making a sincere effort to seek India’s cooperation to face internal opposition from the Haqqani group.
