Taliban continues with terrorism, demands Haqqani leaders be cleared from the US Blacklist; reminds US of the Doha deal

Kabul – Journalists covering the women’s protests in Kabul have been detained and beaten by the Taliban. ‘You are lucky you weren’t beheaded’ Taliban fighters reportedly told the journalist. The women protesting for their rights have been similarly punished by the Taliban terrorists. Amid reports of such heinous acts, Taliban claims violated the Doha agreement and has expressed anger on the US for not amending the terrorist blacklist. These reports quash any claims of an improved version of Taliban.

Hundreds of Afghans have taken to the streets to demand equal rights and protest Pakistan’s intervention. So far, there have been reports of Taliban militants using tear gas on protesters, but the Taliban has intensified their crackdown on protesters, the post announcing the government formation.

Sirajuddin Haqqani, current Minister of Interiors, termed the protests illegal and ordered stern action against the protesters. The Taliban has ordered to seek prior approval of slogans for holding any protests. This order is being criticized as it is seen as suppression of the voice of Afghans.

The journalists were beaten and lashed. Taliban terrorists trampled the head of one of the journalists with their feet. This is the first instance reported by the international media. However, there are reports of dozens of journalists who have been detained in the past few days by the Taliban.

The Taliban has also accused the United States of violating the Doha Agreement by keeping the Haqqani network members in the blacklist. The latter are newly appointed in the Taliban government. The Taliban claimed that the United States had promised to remove every member of the Haqqani network from the blacklist. The Haqqani network is the most brutal group within the Taliban, which is known to work against the US and its interests.
