Taiwan to double its missile productionTaiwan’s National Chung Shan Institute of Science and Technology (NCSIST) currently produces around 200 missiles each year of six different types. The Taiwanese agencies are claiming that with the new project of NCSIST being set up, the production of rockets will double, and at least 500 missiles will be produced here annually. In this, the production of air-to-air missiles ‘Sky Sword Two’ and ‘Sky Bow Three’ can be doubled or tripled.

Currently, Taiwan manufactures the Heung Feng 3 medium-range supersonic missile every year. Claims are made that China has set its missiles aimed at Taiwan. Chinese leaders and government media consistently say that the Chinese defence forces can take over Taiwan at any moment. However, some strategic analysts assert that Taiwan has dramatically increased its defence capabilities and that taking control of Taiwan will not be as easy as China thinks. For this, these analysts are pointing to Taiwanese defence preparedness. Against that background, Taiwan has delivered a message that it is ready to clash with China by taking steps to increase its missile production capabilities.
