Fierce rocket attacks on US military bases in Syria and Iraq, three soldiers claimed to be injured

Baghdad: – The chief of the Iran-affiliated terrorist organisation had warned that open war would be declared against the US military that has set up a base in Iraq. Within only a few hours of this threat, attacks were launched on the US military bases in Erbil and Al Assad in Iraq and on US military bases in Syria. The US military clarified that three soldiers were injured in these attacks. But the terrorist organisation claimed that many US soldiers were killed in the attack.

Last month, following the orders issued by US President Joe Biden, US fighter jets launched airstrikes against the terrorist organisations in Iraq and Syria. Reports that major losses having been caused to these terrorist organisations had been received. Abu Alaa Al-Wala’i, the chief of the terrorist organisation Kata’ib Sayyid al-Shuhada, had threatened retaliation against the US attacks.   

Al-Wala’i had threatened, ‘Fierce attacks will be launched to avenge the US attacks on Iraqi brethren. The United States will be targeted everywhere, near the Iraq border, in the air and water. This will be an open war.’ After that, attacks had been launched on various US locations in Syria and Iraq within a few hours. Reports of attacks on US military and air bases, embassy and soldiers patrolling in these targeted areas have been received since the last three days.   

There were rocket attacks on Erbil international airport in the Kurdistan province in Northern Iraq on Tuesday evening. The United States has a base at this airport. After that, the security of the US Embassy in Erbil has been beefed up. A report was also received that the terrorists targeted a safe house of the Israeli intelligence agency Mossad near the Salah al-Din resort in Erbil. But this report could not be confirmed.  

Fourteen rocket attacks were launched on the Al Assad military base on Wednesday morning. As per the information given by some media, attacks were carried out with missiles along with rockets. Colonel Wayne Marotto, the spokesman of the western armies in Iraq, informed that three soldiers were injured in all these attacks. Colonel Marotto said that the assessment of the damages caused to the base is being done. But the Iran-affiliated terrorist organisation claimed that there were many US soldiers killed in the attack.   

The Al-Omar oil field, under the US control in the Deir ez-Zur province in Syria, came under a drone attack. Syrian Democratic Forces, a US-affiliated Kurdish organisation, gave this information. This is the second attack on a US location in Syria in the last four days.   

Meanwhile, Saudi Arabian Deputy Defence Minister Khalid bin Salman is currently visiting the United States. Deputy Defence Minister Khalid is scheduled to meet US Secretary of State Antony Blinken, National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan and other Pentagon officials. It is claimed that the Iranian nuclear program and the increasing attacks of the Iran-affiliated terrorist organisations will be the topics of discussions between the US and Saudi Arabian leaders.
