Jerusalem/Gaza: Israel has issued a warning to the terrorist organisations Hamas and Islamic Jihad from the Gaza Strip, who have been carrying out rocket attacks into Israel for the last three days. Israel has warned, ‘Stop the rocket attacks today itself, or we will launch fierce attacks on your locations.’ Before this, Israel closed the Gaza border. Following the Israeli action, Hamas has warned of dire consequences.

Israel military claimed that there were more than 40 rocket attacks in the last three days. The Iron Dome air defence system was able to neutralise most of the rockets. At the same time, some of the missiles landed in deserted areas. Initially, the Israeli military retaliated by launching attacks on Hamas’s locations. But Israel stopped the retaliatory attacks on Sunday.

On Monday morning, Israel closed the marine Gaza border till further notice. Before this, Israel had permitted the fishermen from the Gaza strip to fish within nine miles from the coast. Fishing is the biggest source of income for the Palestinians in the Gaza Strip. Even if Israel closes the Gaza border, there is no ban imposed on fishing. As per the peace agreement signed in the 1990 decade at Oslo, between Israel and Palestinian leaders, Israel had granted permission for fishing up to 20 miles from the coast. But after Hamas took over the Gaza Strip, Israel reduced this permission to six miles.

But because of the rocket attacks being launched, Israel announced a complete ban in the last three days. Infuriated by the Israeli action, Hamas has warned that the ban is lifted immediately or else there will be dire consequences.

After this threat, three rocket attacks were launched on the Sderot city in Israel on Monday morning. Expressing annoyance over the attacks, Israel ordered Hamas to stop the rocket attacks immediately. Israel has issued a stern warning that if the attacks don’t stop, fierce attacks will be launched on the Hamas location in the darkness of the night.
