Five soldiers martyred in encounter with terrorists in Poonch

Srinagar – Five soldiers were martyred in a clash between Indian soldiers and militants in the Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir. Two terrorists were killed in clashes at two different places. There have been reports of clashes with militants in five places.

Last week, terrorists had killed seven innocent civilians in five days. Since then, security forces and investigators have launched a thorough investigation; hundreds of people have been arrested in the case. The army also launched a search operation against terrorists. During the operation in Poonch district, militants hiding in the forest opened fire on the soldiers. Five soldiers, including a junior officer, were martyred, according to reports.

After this, the search operation was intensified in this area. It is learned that the terrorists here have huge stockpiles of weapons. It is estimated that four to five terrorists may be found in the siege laid by the Indian military. Meanwhile, two militants were killed in the clashes at Anantnag and Bandipora. Three days ago, the terrorist killed in Anantnag was involved in the killing of a civilian.

In addition, an IED was found in Tral and it was defused in time. A search operation was launched in Nagrota after locals reported two terrorists in the area. Security forces are also battling militants in the Shopian district. A similar clash was reported from Rajouri.
