A few months ago, the Gujarat government signed an agreement to that effect with the Civil Aviation Ministry and Airports Authority of India. Fifteen passengers can be ferried in the seaplane operated by Spice Jet. There will be four return flights between Ahmedabad and Kevadia. The distance between Ahmedabad and Kevadia is 200 kilometres. It takes four hours to cross this distance by road but the seaplane service will help cut short this time to 45 minutes.

People availing the seaplane services will have to pay a minimum fare of ₹1,500 to the maximum of ₹4,800 under the Udaan scheme. Online ticket booking facility is available as well. This seaplane can effortlessly touch down on any water body like a lake or river. Therefore, the service will prove to be useful at this tourism site. It is claimed that this service will also stimulate tourism.
