Russia-Ukraine conflict must conclude through diplomacy – US NSA Jake Sullivan

Washington: The US National Security Advisor, Jake Sullivan, said that the United States would provide maximum assistance to Ukraine in the conflict against Russia. The United States will continue to support negotiations along the battlefield. We believe that the Russia-Ukraine conflict must end diplomatically. Earlier, Senior US Diplomat Henry Kissinger, NATO chief Jens Stoltenberg and French President Emmanuel Macron had suggested that Ukraine should be ready for diplomatic talks. Since then, the Biden administration, which now supplies billions of dollars worth of weapons to Ukraine, seems to have raised the issue of negotiations.

Russia-Ukraine conflict must conclude through diplomacy – US NSA Jake SullivanThe Russia-Ukraine conflict has been ongoing for more than 110 days and Russia has achieved great strategic success in the last few days. Russia’s lead has upset Western nations, including Ukraine. Ukraine’s leadership is demanding more and more weapons to push Russia back. On the other hand, European countries and the United States have started preparations for negotiations with Russia. The back-to-back statements by Western leaders and analysts confirm this.

Meanwhile, former Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko claimed that the Minsk peace agreement, which he had proposed in 2014 to end the conflict in Donbas, was part of a plan to re-arm Ukraine. ‘We are ready for the Minsk agreement to recover from the defeat in the Donbas region. The goal is to achieve economic stability in the next few years,’ Poroshenko said in an interview with Western media.

Besides, Ukraine has launched an attack on the Russian navy as efforts to carry out Russia-Ukraine negotiations have been going on. On Friday, the Ukrainian navy claimed to have blown up a Russian naval tugboat in the Black Sea using US Harpoon missiles.
