Russia test-fires supersonic missiles in Sea of Japan

Sea of JapanTokyo: Russia’s Pacific Fleet on Tuesday test-fired two ‘Moskit’ supersonic and anti-ship missiles. The Russian Defense Ministry informed that its missiles successfully penetrated the target located in the Sea of Japan at a distance of 100 km. Russia also clarified that these missiles of ours can carry nuclear explosives.

Moreover, Fokino is home to the headquarters of Russia’s Pacific Fleet. Missiles were launched from two Russian destroyers in Peter the Great Gulf near the port city. Also, the Russian Defence Ministry claimed that the area where the missile crashed was within its territory. Japan also said it would not file a complaint against Russia’s test. 

However, the Ministry of External Affairs pointed out that Russia has increased its military activities in the maritime area near Japan for the past few months. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan reminded that just last week, Russian nuclear-armed Tu-95 bombers patrolled our airspace.
