Russia would face severe consequences if it attacks Ukraine, warn US and UK

Washington/Moscow: – US Secretary of State Antony Blinken warned if Russia repeats the mistake of attacking Ukraine, it will have to face serious consequences. UK Foreign Minister Liz Truss has also warned that Russia will have to pay a heavy price for an attack on Ukraine. Russia has also reacted to the aggressive stance taken by Western countries. President Vladimir Putin has called on the West to guarantee the expansion of NATO and weapons deployment near the Russian border.

Just 24 hours ago, the Russian ambassador warned that Russia would not back down even if NATO intervened. A Russian study group has also predicted the possibility of an attack on Ukraine. Russia’s aggression has provoked a backlash from the West. NATO member states are meeting in the European city of Riga. Ahead of the meeting, the US and British foreign ministers issued sterns warning to Russia.  

US Secretary of State Antony Blinken warned Russia’s provocative actions on the Ukrainian border are a concern to the United States. If Russia invades Ukraine again, it will have serious consequences. The US Secretary of State also noted that Russia’s military activities near the Ukrainian marine border are not normal. Along with the United States, British Foreign Secretary Liz Truss has also taken an adamant stand against Russia. Russian attack on Ukraine would be a strategic blunder for Russia and Russia would have to pay a heavy price, warned Liz Truss.  

Russia has reacted to the West’s aggressive rhetoric. Putin clarified the Russian stand in aggressive words’ Russia wants a firm, credible and long-term guarantee of its security. We will demand concrete agreements during our discussions with the United States and its allies. That includes the fact that NATO will not expand further eastward near Russia and will not deploy dangerous weapons near the Russian border.’ Russia’s Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov lashed out at NATO over its nuclear deployments in Europe. Lavrov said NATO’s statements were irresponsible and objectionable. NATO chief Jens Stoltenberg had hinted that nuclear weapons would be deployed in Eastern European countries if Germany refused.  

Meanwhile, Alexander Lukashenko, President of Belarus, an ally of Russia, has slammed Ukraine, saying ‘Ukraine is ours.’ In an interview with a Russian news channel, he said, we will do our best to make Ukraine our permanent home.
