A few days ago, a Taliban minister, speaking to an international news agency, said that large-scale fuel cooperation with Russia had been established. Taliban officials had informed that Russia would supply fuel, natural gas and wheat to Afghanistan. There were claims that Russia would supply five lakh tonnes of natural gas to Afghanistan.

Zamir Kabulov, Russian Ambassador to Kabul, confirmed this report while speaking to local media. No country in the world has recognised the Taliban regime in Afghanistan. This has made it difficult for Afghanistan to get international cooperation. In such a situation, this cooperation of Russia with Afghanistan becomes essential.
