Cairo : Qatar has given stern warning to Saudi Arabia and other Arab allied nations after receiving support from US and European nations. Qatar has threatened to step out of the “Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC)” if its demands are not accepted by Saudi and other Arab allied nations within next three days. This warning can increase the tensions for Arab nations.

Saudi Arabia along with four other Arab allied nations boycotted Qatar by implying severe allegations. The Arab countries took a stand that Qatar should accept 13 demands within 10 days in order to avoid this ban. However, these demands are nothing but allegations against us, as claimed by Qatar. Qatar rejected the demands of Arab nations by stating that it will never accept them. Enraged by this Saudi and Arab allies have given indications to take more strict action against Qatar.

Qatar has criticised over this pragmatic view of Saudi Arabia and Arab allies. In a letter written to “Abdullatif Bin Rashid Al Zayani” head of the most influential Arab-Gulf Countries Organisation “GCC”, Qatar’s Foreign minister “Sheikh Mohammad Bin Abdul Rehman Al-Thani” has given stern warning to Saudi and it’s allied nations.

“Qatar is bound by international laws to fight against terrorism and those who fund terrorist activities. Hence by making allegations of terrorism against Qatar and trying to damage our sovereignty will not be tolerated”, as stated by Foreign Minister Mohammad in his letter.

Along with that, Arab allied nations should revoke the sanctions implied on Qatar, and for this Qatar has issued a three day notice, as warned by Qatari Foreign Minister. The letter also demands reimbursement of the losses faced by Qatar in the previous month. In these three days, if Arab nations fail to revoke the political and economic sanctions imposed on Qatar, then Qatar will exit from ‘GCC’, as indicated by Foreign Minister Mohammad.

Saudi Arabia and its Arab allies have not given any response to these indications made by Qatar. However, Arab nations cannot afford to ignore the demands of Qatar which is the leading producer of oil and natural gas amongst the Arab nations. By revealing the information of Foreign reserves held by Qatar it is not possible for anyone to pressurise Qatar, as assured by the officials of these nations. The offensive stand taken by Qatar can increase the problems significantly for Saudi and it’s Arab allied nations. If Qatar steps out of the “GCC”, then this could prove to be a huge setback for Saudi and other Arab nations.
