President Vladimir Putin visits Mariupol in Ukraine under Russian control

Moscow / Mariupol: Only 24 hours after the arrest warrant issued by the International Criminal Court, Russian President Vladimir Putin visited the city of Mariupol in the Donetsk region of Ukraine. Before visiting Mariupol, Putin is said to have also visited the Crimea region. Analysts claim that the Russian President sent a message to Western countries, including Ukraine, by visiting Crimea and Mariupol, once part of Ukraine.

MariupolOn Friday, the International Criminal Court (ICC) in Europe announced the issuance of an arrest warrant against Russian President Vladimir Putin. Ukraine welcomed this decision along with America and European countries. But Russian leaders and officials mocked him. In this background, the international community paid attention to the role of President Putin.

However, it is clear from his visits that the President of Russia, who does not recognize the International Criminal Court, has ignored the court’s decision. On Saturday, President Putin visited the Crimea region. At this time, he took information about the security system and other works in Crimea. After that, Putin entered Mariupol by helicopter. On this occasion, he met some locals, interacted with them, and discussed the ongoing reconstruction works and other matters in Mariupol with the authorities.

MariupolMoreover, the city of Mariupol is known as an important seaport and naval base in the Donetsk region of Ukraine. The city was captured by Russia last year. It is considered the biggest success of Russia’s military campaign in Ukraine. There were claims that President Putin would visit Mariupol immediately after capturing it. However, the visit of the Russian President after a few months of the occupation of Mariupol is surprising in Russian circles.

Furthermore, Russia is fighting hard to capture the city of Bakhmut in Donbas. Like Mariupol, the Ukrainian army is fighting hard to defend Bakhmut. At the same time, on the other side, claims are being made that Ukraine is preparing to launch a counterattack on Russia. The President of Ukraine said that Ukraine would retake Donetsk and Crimea. Against this background, the visit of the President of Russia to the Crimea province and the city of Mariupol attracts attention. It is said that Russia has given a message that it will not hand over the parts under its possession and control to Ukraine under any circumstances.

Russia extends grain deal by 60 days

Moscow: Russia has given a 60-day extension to the agreement to supply food grain reserves in Ukraine to African, Gulf and Asian countries. The United Nations and Turkey announced this. Last year, in August, an agreement regarding the supply of food grains was signed through the mediation of Turkey. After that, he was given an extension in November. According to the United Nations, nearly two and a half million tonnes of food grains have been safely exported after the agreement.

However, Russia had raised some objections to the implementation of the agreement. Due to this, doubts were raised about whether the contract would be extended again. The announcement on Saturday seems to have given him a temporary reprieve.
