Israeli Prime Minister postpones his visit to the UAE

Jerusalem: – Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has postponed his widely discussed visit to the United Arab Emirates (UAE). The Israeli government informed that the visit had to be rescheduled, as the Jordan government did not issue permission to use its airspace in time. It had been reported that the Israeli Prime Minister was scheduled to meet Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman during the visit. Therefore, the eyes of the entire world were glued to the visit of the Israeli Prime Minister.

Prime Minister Netanyahu was to visit Abu Dhabi to discuss the Economic, trade and cooperation in other sectors with UAE. In view of the cooperation established between Israel and UAE, Prime Minister Netanyahu was scheduled to meet UAE Crown Prince Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zaal Al Nahyan last year. Last month, Prime Minister Netanyahu announced this visit while talking to the UAE officials.

Israeli radio channel claimed that Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed will be joining the meeting between Prime Minister Netanyahu and UAE Crown Prince Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed. Israel, Saudi or UAE has not reacted to the report. But the claim drew the attention of the entire world to the Netanyahu visit.

But the Israeli Prime Minister’s Office announced that the visit had been cancelled. Israel clarified that the visit had to be cancelled as Jordan delayed the permission to use its airspace. A few hours ago, Jordan Crown Prince Hussein Bin Abdullah was to visit Temple Mount in the Israeli capital of Jerusalem.

But Israel denied entry to the security personnel of Crown Prince Hussein. Infuriated by this, the Jordanian Crown Prince cancelled the trip entirely. Therefore, the Israeli media are claiming that Jordan delayed the Jordanian airspace’s permission to avenge the Israeli action. But no reaction has been issued by Israel or Jordan on an official level. But this goes to show that there are rapid developments in the Gulf.

Before this, it had been reported in November that a secret meeting had been held between Prime Minister Netanyahu and Crown Prince Mohammed, at Neom City, in the presence of the former US Secretary of State, Mike Pompeo. Saudi had dismissed the reports. But some Israeli leaders had accepted that there had been a meeting between Prime Minister Netanyahu and Crown Prince Salman. It is claimed that Joe Biden after becoming the President of the United States, has adopted a foreign policy to castigate Saudi and be liberal towards Iran. Repercussions of this policy are evident in the Gulf. Therefore, Saudi and the other Gulf countries are keen on developing strong relations with Israel. Reports are consistently being received that Israel, Saudi, and its allies are forming a front against the United States’ pro-Iran policies.

The Israeli Prime Minister’s planned visit to UAE and a secret meeting with the Saudi Crown Prince only point to the increasing Israeli cooperation with the Gulf countries. But major movements have started in the Gulf following the cancellation of the Israeli Prime Minister’s visit to UAE. Especially, the Iranian threat that if the Gulf countries develop relations with Israel, they will have to face dire consequences, is indicating that the situation in the Gulf has become more explosive.
