US President Biden meets Israel’s Mossad chief

Washington, DC: Yossi Cohen, the head of Israel’s national intelligence agency Mossad, held discussions with US President Joe Biden. An Israeli news channel reported that the Mossad chief discussed Iran’s nuclear program with President Biden. However, according to the White House, the US President only met with Cohen.

A senior Israeli delegation is on a US tour for the past few days to discuss the country’s concerns regarding Iran’s nuclear deal and the tough stance of the Netanyahu government. The delegation included Israel’s National Security Advisor Meir Ben-Shabbat, Mossad Director Yossi Cohen and Director of Military Intelligence Major General Tamir Heyman. On Friday, the Mossad chief met US National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan.  

During this visit, the White House stated that President Biden met the Mossad chief to express condolences over the recent tragedy in Israel. However, according to an Israeli news channel, Biden and Cohen discussed Iran. The news channel also mentioned that the Mossad chief discussed Prime Minister Netanyahu’s stand on Iran’s nuclear program and Israel’s security with Biden.
