Two weeks ago, former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif opened a big front against the Pakistan military. Blaming the Pakistan military of being responsible for the condition of the country, Sharif appealed to all the opposition groups to unite against the army. People’s Democratic Movement is the new front of the opposition parties in Pakistan, and the reigns of the new party have been handed over to Maulana Fazal-ur-Rehman. Some of the analysts are expressing concerns over the selection of Maulana Fazal-ur-Rehman as the leader of the front. The opposition parties uniting under his leadership have announced an intense nationwide agitation against the Pakistan government and military.

Along with the nationwide agitation, the demands for independent Balochistan, Sindhu Desh and Pashtunistan have also started intensifying. The independent Sindhu Desh movement received a fillip with a decision of the Pakistan government regarding the Sindh province. Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) President, Bilawal Bhutto, announced that the fight against the government and military would be intensified. Pakistan government announced a decision to acquire two islands in the Sindh province. PPP ruling the Sindh province has objected to the government decision and Bilawal Bhutto criticised that the government is trying to bite off chunks of the Sindh territory. Nationalist groups, organisations, litterateurs and analysts from Pakistan have united against the decision of Pakistan government, and the call for a nationwide agitation is receiving an extensive response.

Whereas, Allah Nazar Baloch, the leader of Baloch Liberation Front, has appealed to all the groups to participate in the nationwide agitation against the Pakistan government and military. Baloch criticised, ‘Pakistan is not a country, but a source of global terrorism and a centre of atrocities.’ This terrorism is now affecting children, women and the society; and he also demanded that if this has to end, Baloch, Sindhi, Pashtun people along with Muhajirs and people from PoK should participate in the nationwide agitation. The Pashtun, Sindhi and Baloch people around the globe also have announced that protests will be held against the Pakistan government and military.
