‘Minus Formula’ against PM Imran Khan gaining ground in Pakistan

Islamabad: – There is an all-round criticism in Pakistan that Imran Khan has sunk the country’s economy and it has no credibility at an international level. Along with the Pakistani media, even the Pakistan population has started lashing out at the policies of Prime Minister Imran Khan. Holding Imran Khan responsible for the instability in the country, the Pakistan military and intelligence agency ISI have started preparations to apply the ‘Minus Formula’, which means replacing Imran Khan with another person as Prime Minister. There are widespread discussions in the Pakistani media, regarding this. But Prime Minister Khan and the Pakistan military have denied the reports.

Imran Khan’s leadership has failed to give direction to the country. The Pakistani news channels are reporting that ISI and Pakistan military have increased their movements, accusing that Pakistan has fallen flat on its face on the political, economic and military fronts, because of the policies of Imran Khan. It is being claimed that the Pakistan military, which has a major hold on the Pakistan government has made preparations to expel Imran Khan as Prime Minister and change in leadership will be brought to effect, at the right time.

The greatest expression of the displeasure against Imran Khan, was made by Maliha Lodhi, former Pakistan Ambassador to the United Nations, in her article published in the Pakistan daily ‘Don’. Lodhi is said to be having backing from the Pakistan military. Reports have also been published of intense differences developing between Imran Khan and the Pakistan Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi. Qureshi once again is in the good books of the Pakistan military and the talks are rife in the Pakistan media that Qureshi will replace Imran Khan.

Meanwhile, Pakistan military has dismissed all these reports. But it is also said that the plan for putting Khan in the position and overthrow him later was prepared long ago.
