Prime Minister Narendra Modi holds talks with US President Biden

Washington: – Prime Minister Modi held bilateral talks, awaited by the entire world, with President Biden. Prime Minister Modi underlined the importance of this discussion, taking place at the beginning of the third decade of this century. Modi told President Biden, ‘Your leadership will determine the shape of this decade.’ During the meeting, Prime Minister Modi said that President Biden shared his viewpoint regarding the India-US bilateral relations. President Biden said that cooperation between India and the United States, the largest democracies of the world, was essential and that it would be more robust and intimate in the years to come, bringing the countries closer.

Not all the details of the bilateral talks between Prime Minister Modi and President Biden have been revealed. But the two leaders addressed a joint press conference following the discussion. President Biden recalled Mahatma Gandhi’s teachings on non-violence. Biden said, ‘We need to think about how to implement the learning of Gandhiji in the current times. Therefore, Prime Minister Modi said that the concept proposed by Gandhiji that we are the trustees of this planet would be the most important in the time to come.  

Trade and technology cooperation between India and the United States will be important in this decade. Technology is the driving force behind the world. Stating that it is imperative to use our quality in this area for the world’s benefit, Prime Minister Modi said that cooperation between India and the United States, on this front, is an essential factor. Meanwhile, about 4 million Indians are working in the United States. Prime Minister Modi pointed out that because of these people, America is becoming stronger by the day.  

President Biden expressed confidence that India and the United States would be able to overcome many challenges together. President Biden added that the Coronavirus pandemic, climate change, trade, and Indo-Pacific sector were the key issues featured in the bilateral talks with Prime Minister Modi. Biden said, ‘I will continue to discuss Coronavirus pandemic and Indo-Pacific stability, with Prime Minister Modi.’. Meanwhile, the bilateral talks between Prime Minister Modi and President Biden lasted for about 90 minutes. After this, the two leaders will again hold discussions during the QUAD meeting.
