Filipino military chief General Sobejana severely criticised China while talking to the media. General Sobejana made crushing allegations that in 2002, as per the agreement signed between ASEAN countries and China, it had been decided that no military constructions will be carried out on the deserted islands in the South China Sea. But China has taken over these islands and started constructions there. China also built artificial islands.

Moreover, General Sobejana warned that if China does not stop expanding the constructions on the deserted islands and building new islands, the Philippines will also do the same. If the government orders, even the Philippines military can build artificial islands in this marine region. The Philippines deployment in this sector is much less as compared to China. General Sobejana claimed that this would be possible only if the Duterte government provided the necessary support. At the beginning of this month, General Sobejana had warned that the Philippines has the authority to take action against the illegal constructions carried out by China in the Philippines’ marine region.

The Philippines is accusing that more than 200 Chinese militia ships have intruded in the Filipino marine region. China has dismissed the accusation made by the Philippines, saying that these fishing boats took shelter in this area due to bad weather conditions. Philippines military has alleged that there are trained Chinese militia on these ships.

The Philippines navy and air force are patrolling the region daily. It is claimed that some of the ships have been withdrawn. Philippines is accusing that more than 200 ships are still present in the region. The Filipino Defence Minister and military chief have made crushing criticism and have warned China of consequences.

Meanwhile, President Duterte had said that there is no option other than a bloody war against China to get the Filipino marine region back. President Duterte had said that this war would be blood-stained; there are possibilities of both win and defeat.
