Islamabad: ‘The United States and other western countries are pressurising Pakistan to stop cooperating with China. But, Pakistan will not withdraw its cooperation with China, its closest ally,’ boasted the Pak PM Imran Khan. Besides, India should not create enmity with China by allying with the United States; PM Imran Khan advised this and pleased China.

Pak PM Imran Khan spoke about this in an interview with the Chinese news channel, China Global Television Network – CGTN. The United States has established QUAD against China, which includes India alongside Australia and Japan. PM Khan also taunted that the US tactics against China are wrong. At the same time, he claimed that the United States and western countries exert pressure on Pakistan to reduce its cooperation with China. However, no matter how much pressure the US puts, Pakistan would not reduce its association with its closest ally, China.

Everybody stays during the good times. But, China remained with Pakistan even in the most challenging time, said Pak PM Khan and proved the friendship between the two nations. The Pak citizens look up to China as a trusted ally. Moreover, both the nations share a natural bond of mutual respect, claimed Pak PM. Furthermore, the Pak PM also advised India at the time. India must not give in to the United States and go against China. There is an ongoing trade between India and China. In such a situation, if India tries to go against China, it would cause damage to India, Imran Khan warned.

Meanwhile, this boasting and bragging by PM Imran Khan before the Chinese news channel can cause new problems for Pakistan. Already, the accusations are making rounds that Pakistan is responsible for the US failure in Afghanistan. Moreover, the former US Security Advisor John Bolton has blamed Pakistan for the Taliban militant-expansion in Afghanistan. Bolton claimed that the Taliban acquired rule in Afghanistan only because of Pakistan. Hence, the US army and political leaders are infuriated against Pakistan. Besides, Pakistan refused to provide a military base to the United States to keep control over Afghanistan. So, Pakistan would have to face grave consequences of this, warned the Pak analysts to its government.

However, Pakistan is prepared to face this pressure by the United States, declared Pak NSA Moeed Yusuf. This has revealed that Pakistan would seek assistance from Russia and China to counter pressure from the United States. Pakistan is unable to seek financial aid due to the US discontentment. By listing Pakistan consistently in the Grey List of FTAF, the United States has shown its glimpse to the nation, Pak analysts say. In such a situation, Pakistan seems to be struggling to save its economy by pleasing China.
