Pakistan failed to stop Lashkar and Jaish, report by US Department of State

New Delhi: The Pakistan based terrorist organisations, Lashkar-e-Taiba and Jaish-e-Mohammed, still have the capability to carry out terror attacks in India. The Pakistan government has completely failed in stopping the fund flow to these organisations as well as recruitment and training of terrorists by these organisations. The US Department of State warned that the Pakistani agencies have failed to satisfy the criteria set by the ‘Financial Action Task Force’ (FATF).

The US Department of State published a report named ‘Country Report on Terrorism 2018’. This report levels serious accusations against Pakistan. The report notes that the dreaded terrorist organisations Lashkar-e-Taiba and Jaish-e-Mohammed, responsible for the Mumbai and parliament attacks, respectively, in India, are still operational in Pakistan

Although Pakistan claims to have taken harsh actions against the terrorists, there is no substance in these claims.

On the contrary, the report warns that these terrorist organisations are still capable of carrying out terror attacks in India.

The fund flow to Lashkar and Jaish continues unabated and the terrorist recruitments are also continuing. These terrorist organisations are openly conducting training programs for these terrorists, at their bases, in Pakistan. The report exposes that Pakistan has miserably failed to take action to control the activities of these terrorist organisations. The report also highlights the issue of Pakistan’s failure in fulfilling the FATF criteria.
