Only 30% of weapons supplied by West have reached to Ukrainian military

Moscow/Kyiv: The Russian army destroyed about 45,000 tons of ammunition, which NATO sent to the Ukrainian army. Russia has informed that its forces have destroyed five more ‘arms depots’ of the Ukrainian army. Along with this, there is a startling revelation that only 30% of the weapons worth billions of dollars sent by the United States and other Western countries are being handed over to the Ukrainian Army. A US news agency has published a report about this, causing repercussions.

The Ukrainian Army had stored about 45,000 tons of NATO-supplied ammunition at its base in Veznysynsky in the Mykolaiv region of Ukraine. Russian Defence Ministry informed that all this ammunition was destroyed in a massive attack by the Russian army. Moreover, the Russian Defence Ministry claimed that the Russian army has also destroyed five more ‘arms depots’ storing ammunition and weapons of the Ukrainian army. After receiving information from Russia on Sunday, an American news agency gave shocking news about the weapons the United States and Western countries supplied to Ukraine.

So far, the US has approved about $54 billion in arms aid to Ukraine to fight against Russia. The United Kingdom has announced about three billion dollars in aid for the Ukrainian army. The European Union has announced it will provide weapons worth 2.5 billion dollars to Ukraine. These include sophisticated rifles, grenades, anti-tank missiles and multiple launch rocket systems. It is claimed that all these weapons are being delivered to Ukraine through Poland. But after crossing the border, these weapons do not easily reach the hands of the Ukrainian army. The US news agency claimed that only 30% of the weapons sent reached the hands of the Ukrainian army. These weapons of the West are reaching the wrong place.

It has been alleged people with political linkages involved in the illegal trade of weapons are taking advantage of this. Earlier, a US news channel claimed that there were malpractices in the weapons sent to Ukraine. The news channel had claimed that no one knew exactly where these weapons were going. Against this backdrop, the report by the US news agency has been picked up by the Russian media. While on the one hand, the United States and the West are announcing a weapons supply worth billions of dollars for Ukraine, on the other hand, Ukrainian President Zelensky is still accusing that his army is not receiving the expected support from the West. The President of Ukraine has repeatedly lamented that the Ukrainian army could not hold its own against the powerful Russian army due to insufficient military support. Because of this, the report that only 30% of the weapons sent by the United States and other Western countries are getting into the hands of the Ukrainian army is creating ripples even on the political levels. Member of the House of Representatives from the Republican Party in the United States, Marjorie Taylor Green, claimed that he was against the decision to supply arms to Ukraine for this very reason.
