North Korea tests ‘Ballistic Missile’

Seoul: North Korea has further increased tensions in the Koran region by testing a ballistic missile near Japanese territorial waters. North Korea conducted the test while the US aircraft carrier entered the port of Busan for military exercises with South Korea. The Vice President of the United States, Kamala Harris, will visit South Korea and Japan next week. Analysts say that before that, North Korea had issued a warning to the United States by carrying out this test.

North Korea tests ‘Ballistic Missile’A short-range missile was launched from North Korea’s Taechon County in North Pyongyang province at around 7 am. After travelling about 600 kilometres, the missile crashed into the Sea of Japan. The South Korean military released this information, which closely monitors North Korea’s military activities. Japan has criticized North Korea’s missile crash at some distance from Japan’s exclusive economic zone.

South Korea and Japan have accused North Korea of violating UN regulations by conducting the test. Japan has protested North Korea’s missile test through the Chinese Embassy in Tokyo. Japanese Defence Minister Yasukazu Hamada has said that the speed of North Korean missiles is a cause for concern. A major exercise has been organized between the United States and South Korean navies in the coming days. For the first time since 2018, the United States and South Korea are conducting exercises involving warships. For this purpose, the USS Ronald Reagan’s gigantic US aircraft carrier arrived in South Korea. Media from the region say that this deployment is for North Korea and China. Against this backdrop, North Korea appears to have test-fired the ballistic missile to issue a warning to the United States.
