India sets new record in Corona vaccinations; over 25 million vaccinated in a single day

New Delhi: – India had crossed the milestone of delivering 750 million doses of the Corona vaccine on September 13. After that, in just four days, the number of vaccines given to citizens in India has reached 800 million. This was due to record vaccinations across the country on Friday. In one day, about 25 million people were vaccinated. This is a world record for such a large number of vaccinations. More than 10 million people have been vaccinated in a day, four times, in less than a month. India will be able to complete the vaccination of all its citizens by the end of this year, said Dr N.K. Arora, President of the Central Working Group for Coronavirus.

On Prime Minister Narendra Modiji’s birthday, the vaccination program was given more impetus across the country. Vaccination was carried out at more than one lakh vaccination centres across the country. The health ministry had set a target of giving 2.5 crore vaccines in one day. However, according to the data obtained by Cowin app, more than 2 crore 22 lakh 31 thousand people were vaccinated till 7.40 pm.

On Friday, ten million Corona vaccine doses were given in one day by around 1.30 pm. After that, in an hour and a half, the same number went beyond fifteen million. The stage of giving twenty million doses in a day was also crossed by 5 pm. On August 27, more than ten million people were vaccinated in the country in a single day for the first time. On August 31, more than ten million people were vaccinated in one day. After this, on September 6, this feat was achieved once again. A new record has been set on Friday, September 17. Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandavia underlined that vaccination was carried out at a rapid pace on Friday.

Earlier on Thursday, about 6.4 million people were vaccinated in a single day. As a result, the number of vaccines administered so far had gone up to 772.4 crore by Friday morning. By Friday evening, the number of doses of Corona vaccines given so far has gone up to 795 million.

Meanwhile, the central government is providing vaccines to the states under the vaccination program. At present, the states have more than 60 million vaccines available. Therefore, it is becoming clear that the central government is making an abundant supply of vaccines. The government had set a target of 100 crore vaccines by mid-October. However, given the current pace of vaccination, this feat is likely to be reached earlier. When the Corona vaccination program was launched in India, it took 85 days to vaccinate the first 100 million people in January.
