Morale of Indian Army very high, says Army chief Gen Naravane

Leh – The situation on the Line of Actual Control (LAC) has become very severe and delicate. But Army Chief General Manoj Mukund Naravane assured that the morale of the Indian Army is very high, and the soldiers are prepared to face any challenges. The foreign ministry severely criticised that it is China who is responsible for the tension created on the border since the last four months. Against the background of the escalating tension on the LAC, Army chief General Naravane visited Ladakh after postponing his Myanmar visit. At this time, General Naravane visited the soldiers deployed near the LAC and had a dialogue with them. He also inspected the preparations of the Indian military in the Pangong Tso and Finger Cliffs area. The Army Chief said that no efforts to change the situation in this region would be allowed to succeed. Thereafter, the Army Chief met the Field Commander for Ladakh and had a detailed discussion. Following the talks with National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, Army chief Naravane and Air chief Marshal RK Bhadauria visited Ladakh and Eastern command at Shillong respectively and reviewed the security situation.

The deployment on the LAC from Ladakh to Arunachal Pradesh has been increased along with these visits of defence top brass. China, who has been embarrassed twice in the last four months at the hands of the Indian soldiers, may become aggressive once again on the border. Sources said that deployment is made to ensure that there is no change in the situation. China is holding India responsible for the border tension. But the Indian foreign ministry accused that it is China who is responsible for the tension on the border. India is open to take the negotiation route to diffuse the strain on the border. Anurag Srivastava, the spokesman of the foreign ministry, criticised by stating that the Chinese activities to change the situation on the border is adding to the tension.

Meanwhile, China has become further restless that its soldiers could not face the Indian onslaught in Galwan Valley as well as during the incident four days ago in the Pangong lake region. It has started feeling that it is losing its image as a powerful country. Therefore, China is trying to prove its military might against India. China has begun deploying militia instead of soldiers in this region. Five units with boxers, club fighters and mountaineers will be deployed near the LAC. It is being said that this Chinese preparation is for facing the Indian Special Frontier Forces.
