Mega Blood Donation Camp organised by Shree Aniruddha Upasana Foundation

8770 bags collected in a single day from 39 locations across the State

Mumbai: ‘Shree Aniruddha Upasana Foundation’ and allied institutions arranged blood donation camps at 39 locations across the state on the same day. In this mega blood donation campaign of the institutions, a total of 8770 bags of blood was collected. 5838 bags were collected at the camp organised at Bandra East in Mumbai, while 2932 bags were collected at other centres in the State.

Shree Aniruddha Upasana Foundation’ and allied institutions have been regularly organising blood donation camps since 1999. A mega blood donation camp is organised every year in the month of April. This year, 5838 bags of blood were collected in the camp organised in the ‘New English School’ at Bandra East. 40 blood banks participated in this camp.

These included blood banks from the KEM Hospital, Nair Hospital, Saifee Hospital, Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital, JJ Mahanagar blood bank, Babasaheb Ambedkar Municipal Hospital, Sion Hospital, Rajawadi Hospital, ‘Ayush blood bank (Nagpur), Bloodline (Thane), Wadia Hospital, D.Y.Patil Hospital, Bombay Hospital, Masina Hospital and Tata Hospital among others.

Other than Mumbai, the blood donation camps were organised in Pune, Kolhapur, Raigad, Ratnagiri, Akola, Jalgaon, Sindhudurg and Palghar districts of the State. Camps were organised at 17 locations in Pune district where 1640 bags were collected, 424 bags were collected in Kolhapur, 127 at Boisar and 131 at Palghar in Palghar district and 83 in Dongasta. Besides these, 121 bags in Uran , 16 bags in Akola, 62 bags in Miraj, 28 bags in Waghotan, 72 bags in Sangamner, 11 bags in Chopda and 89 bags in Dahanu were collected across the State.
