Major attack on Turkish military base in Syria

Tehran: There was an airstrike on the military base, setup by Turkey in the Raqqa province, in northern Syria. This strike was carried out by a fighter jet, but it could not be ascertained as to which country the fighter jets belonged. This airstrike was carried out while the Turkish military prepared for an attack on the US-supported Kurdish organisation, People’s Protection Units (YPG). Turkey or the Syrian government have not published the details of the attack.

YPG is affiliated with the Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) in Turkey. Turkey has declared PKK as a terrorist organisation and has termed the Kurdish organisations Peshmerga and PYD from Iraq and terrorist organisations. In these two years, even the Syrian military has retaliated against the Turkish military attacks on YPG. Whereas Russia also has supported these Syrian actions. The Iran affiliated terrorist organisations in Iran and the Iraq government are criticising these Turkish attacks. These terrorist organisations have threatened to retaliate against the Turkish attacks. Therefore, Syria, Iraq and Iran seem to oppose the Turkish action against the Kurds in Syria and Iraq.
