Lebanon just days away from social outburst, warns interim Lebanese Prime Minister

Beirut – Interim Lebanese Prime Minister Hassan Diab warned, ‘Lebanon is just a few days away from a social outburst. The international community should make efforts to save Lebanon from this crisis. As the effects of the social outburst in Lebanon will be felt all around the globe.’ The world bank expressed concerns over the warning issued by the Lebanese Prime Minister. Israeli Defence Minister Benny Gantz proposed that Israel and the Israeli population were willing to bail out Lebanon from this economic crisis. Qatar has expressed willingness to supply ration enough for a month to the Lebanese soldiers.

As per received information, 60% of the Lebanese population is below the poverty line. The Lebanese currency has been devalued by more than 91%. Lebanese population is harassed, and the costs of life essentials have skyrocketed. There is a tremendous shortage of fuels, and incidents of violence have been reported from fuel stations. The world bank also has expressed concerns that Lebanon is landing into one of the worst recessions in history. Interim Prime Minister Hassan Diab, who is running the government for the last ten months, has appealed to the allies for help. Prime Minister Diab claimed that the country is on the brink of a social outburst. Prime Minister Hassan Diab appealed to the international community and the allies to help while addressing the Lebanese population over the national news channel.

Last month, the European Union had criticised that the leaders in Lebanon were responsible for the situation in that country. Last year, the then Prime Minister Hassan Diab had resigned following the massive blast on the 4th of August in the Beirut port. After that, former Lebanese Prime Minister Saad Hariri was once again appointed as Lebanon’s prime minister. But Iran affiliated Hezbollah strongly opposed the appointment of Saad Hariri, who is known for his anti-Iran policies. Whereas President Michel Aoun, who was elected with the support of Hezbollah, also stopped the appointment of Hariri.

It is claimed that this is affecting the international aid coming into Lebanon. In this scenario, Israel has offered to help Lebanon.

Israeli Defence Minister Benny Gantz reminded of the aid provided to Lebanon in the past. Gantz announced that even today, Israel is standing behind its neighbour and is willing to bail out Lebanon from the crisis. Whereas, the Foreign Minister of Qatar, who is visiting Lebanon, has announced that 70 tonnes of ration will be supplied to the Lebanese military.
