Pakistan sponsored Lashkar-e-Taiba and Jaish-e-Mohammed planning terror strike on Independence-day, warn Intel agencies

New Delhi: The intelligence agencies have warned that the Pakistan sponsored terrorist organisations are planning a major terror strike on Independence Day. The security forces have been alerted after this warning. The capital of India, Delhi is the prime target for these terrorist organisations. As per the intelligence agencies, terrorists from Jaish-e-Mohammed have already entered Delhi. The report by the intelligence agencies also says that there is a plot being hatched for a major suicide attack on a military base in Jammu-Kashmir.

The intelligence agencies have alerted the security forces in view of the approaching Independence Day. As per the intelligence agencies Mufti Abdul Rauf Asgar, the brother of Jaish’s chief Moulana Masood Azhar is supposedly plotting the said attack. Asgar’s bodyguard Mohammed Ibrahim alias Ismail has been handed over the responsibility of the attacks. As per the information received by the intelligence agencies, Ismail along with his accomplices has intruded into India through the Jammu-Kashmir border in the month of May. The intelligence report also says that Ismail has already reached Delhi.

The report also says that Mohammed Umer, another Jaish terrorist has succeeded in intruding India. There is a plan to carry out major terror attacks in India under Asgar’s leadership. Major attacks on the Independence Day are a part of the same plot. A meeting of the Jaish was held in the Khyber Pakhtoonwalla region in Pakistan. The decision to carry out terror strikes in India was taken at this meeting. Masood Azhar’s nephew ‘Talha Rashid’ was killed by the Indian security forces in Phulwama in Jammu-Kashmir in the month of November. These attacks are to avenge that killing.

The attacks on Nagrota military base near Jammu in 2016 and the airforce base in Pathankot had also been planned by Asgar. The Kandahar plane hijacking to get Masood Azhar released was also planned by him. Therefore, the intelligence agencies have issued an alert to the security forces after receiving the information of Asgar’s planning a suicide attack on Independence Day.

Apart from this, Lashkar-e-Taiba is also planning a major terror strike on the Independence Day. Terrorists from Jaish and Lashkar are planning to attack an Indian military base in Jammu-Kashmir. The attack may be carried out by around 10 to 15 terrorists. The intelligence agencies have received information that the military bases in Tangdhar sector and Baramulla are the targets of the terrorists.
