Mossad kidnapped senior Iranian military general, informs Israeli Prime Minister

Jerusalem: – Last month, the Israeli intelligence agency Mossad kidnapped a senior Iranian military official of the rank of General. Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett said the Mossad had carried out this bold action. Prime Minister Bennett said the Iranian official had been picked up to find out about an Israeli pilot who went missing three decades ago.

In 1986, an Israeli warplane crashed in southern Lebanon during airstrikes in Lebanon. The Israeli military secured the release of the chief pilot with swift action. But Lieutenant Colonel Ron Arad was abducted by the Lebanese extremist group Amal. Amal’s extremists then extradited Lieutenant Colonel Arad to Iran. Arad was imprisoned in Iran for the next two years.

In 1988, Iran sent Arad again to Lebanon. Negotiations then began between the Israeli and Lebanese regimes for Arad’s release. But Israel withdrew from the talks after denying the demand of the Lebanese extremists for the release of the terrorists in exchange for Arad. Lieutenant Colonel Arad is claimed to have died in the next few months. Israel did not receive his body.

Israel had earlier made efforts to find out the truth about Lieutenant Colonel Arad. But last month, the Israeli intelligence agency, Mossad, sought to obtain information by directly kidnapping a senior Iranian military official of the rank of General. Prime Minister Bennett said no further details could be shared. But the London-based Arabic newspaper has made some claims about Mossad’s actions.

Following the abduction of the Iranian official from Syria, Mossad conducted a thorough interrogation of this official in one of the African countries. The newspaper said that the Mossad then released the Iranian General. The Gulf Arab News Agency reported another Mossad operation. Mossad agents excavated the tomb of Ron Arad in the village of Nabi Chit in northern Lebanon and collected DNA samples from the skeletal remains. Mossad chief David Barney declined to comment on the allegations. But Barney said that the last month’s mission was very courageous. ‘We failed in this campaign.’ Barney said in a meeting. The Israeli Prime Minister’s office claimed the operation was a success. The Israeli Prime Minister’s Office said that it could achieve ‘significant goals’ through this mission.

The Mossad is renowned in the world for its covert operations. Last year, Iran accused Mossad of assassinating chief nuclear scientist Mohsen Fakhrizadeh near the Iranian capital, Tehran. At the same time, Mossad was responsible for the suspected bombings at Iran’s nuclear facilities. Earlier, reports had been published that former Mossad chief Yossi Cohen sneaked into Iran and seized thousands of documents and materials related to the Iranian nuclear program. Therefore, Mossad’s actions have always posed challenges to Iran. In that sense, it is possible that the Israeli prime minister gave another warning to Iran by admitting that Mossad kidnapped the senior Iranian military official.

Israel warns of covert action against Iran

Lieutenant General Aviv Kochavi, Israel’s defence chief, said, ‘The campaign to destroy the Iranian military capabilities, including its nuclear program, will continue. Israel will take action anytime, anywhere.’

Even in the past, the Israeli defence chief had ordered his army to be ready to launch an attack on Iran. Like Lieutenant General Kochavi, Major General Tamir Heyman, the head of Israeli military intelligence, has also threatened Iran. Although the Iranian regime is apparently stable at the moment, Heyman has warned that it will collapse in the near future.
