Japan will take cooperation with India to new heights in line with the policie

Tokyo: Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid tribute to the late Shinzo Abe, the former Prime Minister of Japan, saying that he was a great leader having immense faith in the friendship between India and Japan. Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida has announced that Japan will cooperate with India for an open and free Indo-Pacific region, carrying Abe’s diplomatic legacy forward.

Shinzo Abe was killed in a shooting incident on July 8. His last rites were performed on Tuesday and Prime Minister Narendra Modi personally visited Japan to bid him farewell. Prime Minister Modi paid tribute to Abe, saying, ‘I visited Japan at the beginning of this year. At that time, I never thought we would have to return to Japan for such a sad reason. Abe was a great leader and will forever remain in the hearts of millions of people.’

Meanwhile, in a discussion with Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida, Prime Minister Modi said India would never forget Abe. In this discussion, the Prime Minister of Japan reminded that Abe had taken a special initiative to cooperate with India for an open and free Indo-Pacific region. Kishida expressed the resolve that the legacy of these policies will be carried forward in the future and that Japan will further increase its cooperation with India. Prime Minister Modi has also confirmed the claim of Prime Minister Kishida by expressing his belief that the cooperation between India and Japan will reach new heights in the coming times.

Meanwhile, discussions were held between Prime Minister Modi and Prime Minister Kishida on regional and Ukraine issues. The role of India and Japan in the Ukraine conflict is not similar. However, both countries had taken up the demand to stop the conflict in Ukraine immediately.
