Recently, a meeting was held between the officials of Japan and Philippines. In the meeting, a serious thought was given to the idea of providing Patrol aircrafts to the Philippines Coast Guard for aerial surveillance, in addition to Patrol boats. Last year, the governments of Philippines and Japan had inked a deal about the purchase of the Patrol boats.

A few days back, some officials of the western countries had claimed that Vietnam has installed rocket launchers on the Spratly islands in the disputed South China Sea territory. Since then, the news of Japan providing Philippines with Patrol boats, is clearly signifying unified aggression against China in the South China Sea territory. This incident makes it amply clear that the US, Japan and Australia are standing firmly behind Vietnam and Philippines along with the other South-East Asian countries.
