‘Syed Ali Shah Geelani’ and ‘Mirwaiz Umar Farooq’, the leaders of the central separatist organization in Jammu-Kashmir called the  ‘Hurriyat Conference’, violated the imposed curfew. Both of them were arrested as soon as they came out of their homes to address the people. Separatist leader Shabbir Shah has also been detained for the same reasons. Yasin Malik has also been imprisoned. The administration is seen to be vigilant to prevent these separatist leaders from spreading further violence in Jammu-Kashmir.

Separatist leader arrested in Jammu and KashmirMirwaiz Umar Farooq has accused the Indian Government of spreading a false propaganda about Jammu-Kashmir. The Indian Government is claiming Pakistan to be responsible for the discontent and killings in the state. But Mr. Farooq claims that Pakistan is not behind this violence. Mirwaiz Umar Farooq has said that the announcements made by the Home Minister during his visit to Jammu-Kashmir have very little significance.

Although Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and other separatist leaders have made such statements about Kashmir claiming no connection to Pakistan, the latter’s hand behind the violence and killings in the state has been proved on several occasions. This is testified by the statements made about Jammu-Kashmir by the Prime Minister of Pakistan. At the same time the statements made by Pakistan’s terrorist leaders Hafiz Saeed and Syed Salahudeen on the issues of Kashmir have revealed their true faces.

Terrorists have been trying hard to intrude the LoC of Jammu-Kashmir and Pakistan’s efforts to spread violence in the state have  also intensified. As a result Pakistan is trying its best to raise the question of Kashmir at the International level. The complaint lodged by Pakistan before the UN Human Rights Committee against the alleged Indian oppression in Kashmir, is also a part of the same effort.
