Israel retaliates against rocket attacks from Gaza with airstrikes

Jerusalem: – Palestinian protestors clashed with the Israeli police for the second successive night. It is claimed that at least 100 protestors have been injured. A rocket attack was launched on Israel in support of these protestors. Israel targeted Hamas’s locations in the Gaza Strip in the retaliatory airstrikes.

The tension has increased between Israel, West Bank and Gaza Strip due to the conflict on Friday. Palestinians held a strong protest on the streets of Jerusalem, once again on Saturday. During the demonstrations, some protestors were carrying flags of Hamas from the Gaza strip. Israel has already declared Hamas as a terrorist organisation.   

Reactions have been received from the western countries and Arab-Islamic countries regarding the conflict in Jerusalem. The Arab League has called an urgent meeting on Monday to discuss the issue. At the same time, Turkish President Recep Erdogan has criticised Israel as a terrorist country. Hezbollah from Lebanon has declared an alert over the issue.   

Meanwhile, there was a rocket attack inside the Israeli border at around 1.30 a.m. on Sunday. The Israeli military informed that no losses were reported in the attack. The Israeli army announced that the Israeli fighter jets targeted the Hamas locations, in the Gaza Strip, within two hours of the rocket attack.
