Israel PM Naftali Bennett to visit India

New Delhi/Jerusalem – The diplomatic relations between India and Israel are completing 30 years. Hence, Israel Prime Minister Naftali Bennett will be visiting India on this occasion. Naor Gilon, the Israeli Ambassador to India, imparted this information. Ambassador Gilon said that the Israel prime minister’s visit had presented an excellent opportunity to shape the India-Israel cooperation over the next 30 years. A webinar was organised to complete 30 years of diplomatic ties between India and Israel. The emblem of cooperation between the two countries was displayed during the webinar. While speaking on this occasion, Ambassador Gilon informed that Prime Minister Naftali Bennett would be visiting India. The India-Israel relations are not at an average level like other countries. Gilon claimed that the relations have developed like friendly cooperation between ancient civilisations.

Last year, Indian Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar had visited Israel. At that time, he had extended an invitation to the Israeli Prime Minister to visit India.

Furthermore, Ambassador Gilon cited that David Ben Gurion, the first Israeli Prime Minister, said that India and Israel’s national movement are mutually connected. The Israeli Ambassador said that Gurion had a special affection towards Mahatma Gandhi and he had a photograph of Mahatma Gandhi in his house. Whereas, Indian Ambassador to Israel, Sanjeev Singla, reminded of the visit of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Israel in 2017.

Moreover, Singla claimed that the strategic cooperation between the two countries had reached a different level in this period, saying that five years have been completed for the Indian Prime Minister’s visit to Israel. But the India-Israel cooperation is not limited only to the trade and economic level. Both these countries with rich heritage are culturally connected with each other. Singla added that the Jewish people have been residing in India for the last many centuries and they have made considerable contributions to the enrichment of the Indian culture.
