Israel offers military assistance to UAE for fighting Houthis in Yemen

Jerusalem / Abu Dhabi – Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett announced that Israel strongly condemns the attacks on the UAE capital, Abu Dhabi, carried out by the Houthi terrorists based in Yemen. Such terrorist organisations must be dealt with force to maintain peace and stability in the region. Israel will fully support the UAE’s fight against these terrorist attacks and provide it the necessary military assistance.

Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett has assured that the UAE would be provided with the necessary military assistance and intelligence inputs to combat the threat through the social media message. Later, a statement from the Prime Minister’s office was issued, mentioning that the orders have been given to the Israeli security agencies to provide required military support to the UAE. Israel is committed to the fight against terrorism in this region. Israel will support the UAE to fight against a common enemy.

After two days of the statement, Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett had a telephonic discussion with the Crown Prince of UAE, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan. Prime Minister Naftali Bennett stressed the importance of maintaining peace and stability in the middle eastern region. He assured of providing military support and intelligence inputs to UAE in their fight against terrorism. During his meeting with Nikos Panagiotopoulos, Defence minister of Greece, Israeli Defence minister Benny Gantz referred to the terrorist attack on UAE. Gantz accused Iran of causing instability in the region through their supported terrorist organisations while at the same time negotiating a nuclear deal with the western countries in Vienna.

Iran is shocked about Israel’s proposal to the UAE. Through their government-controlled media house, Iran has accused Israel of having a veiled motive behind supporting the UAE in the fight against Houthi rebels. Pakistani journalists have reported that if UAE accepts Israel’s offer, it would be a matter of concern for Pakistan.

Israel’s cooperation with the UAE is seen as a concern for Iran. UAE and Israel signed the Abraham agreement in 2020, which meant that the UAE established diplomatic relations with Israel for the first time. Iran had threatened the UAE with dire consequences. Other Islamic extremists’ countries also targeted the UAE. Despite this, UAE supported and signed the Abraham agreement with Israel as it was in the interest and necessary for the progress of its people.
