Israel will not allow Iran to acquire nuclear weapons: PM Netanyahu

Jerusalem: – Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced, ‘Iran has never given up its efforts to acquire nuclear weapons. Therefore, it is the firm stand of my government that Israel will never allow Iran to acquire nuclear weapons.’ Prime Minister Netanyahu clarified the Israeli stand regarding Iran after a meeting with US Secretary of Defence Lloyd Austin. The Biden administration in the United States has started indirect talks with Iran for the nuclear deal. In this scenario, the Israeli Prime Minister has delivered an appropriate message to the Biden administration.

US Secretary of Defence Austin was on a two-day visit to Israel. Austin met Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defence Minister Benny Gantz and clarified that the United States was committed to Israel’s security while talking to the media. The US Secretary of Defence said that he was on this visit to Israel as the United States and Israel face the same challenges in this region. Whereas Austin also clarified that the US defence ministry supports the diplomatic efforts to establish relations between Israel and the Arab-Islamic countries.   

The Israeli media is pointing out that the US Secretary of Defence did not mention the Iranian threat at this time. At the same time, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu asserted that the Israeli efforts to stop Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons would continue. Prime Minister Netanyahu also clarified in front of the media that Israel would continue to retaliate against the Iranian aggression and terrorist activities targeting Israel. Netanyahu said that there could not be a partner like the United States for Israel and like Israel for the United States. Moreover, Israeli Defence Minister Benny Gantz clarified that efforts would prevent the triggering of an arms race in the Gulf because of Iran.
