ISIS plot to launch terrorist attack military base in Jammu and Kashmir foiled  

Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir police foiled the ISIS plot, for a terror attack on an army base, in the Kashmir valley. Five terrorists have been arrested in this connection. Police seized ammunition and even a flag of the ISJK. Police informed that these terrorists were from the Islamic State of Jammu and Kashmir (ISJK). ISJK is the Kashmir wing of the IS.

The Bandipora police received a tipoff from their sources that the terrorists were planning an attack on the military base. These terrorists were surveying the naval base since the last few days. The police launched a search operation to apprehend these terrorists. Four of the arrested terrorists are from various parts of Bandipora district, and one is from Srinagar. Police seized a matrix sheet, ammunition and ISJK flags from the terrorists.   

These terrorists were trying to encourage youth from the Kashmir valley to join ISJK. It was also revealed that ISJK flags were being made in Chittibandi and Argam and were being sent to various parts of Kashmir. Police have registered a case under the Prevention of Illegal Acts Act in the Argam police station, and the matter is being investigated further. This is the second terror plat busted by the security forces in 24 hours after the special unit of the Delhi police arrested an IS terrorist on Friday night. This confirmed the claims that IS is making efforts to reactivate in India.  

Last year, Ishfaq Ahmad Sofi, an IS commander, was killed in an encounter in Shopian. Thereafter, IS announced that Wilayat-Al-Hind was being established and started efforts to increase its influence. Last year, the Pakistani terrorist group Hizbul Mujahideen had killed an ISJK terrorist. Thereafter, ISJK issued a Fatwa even against the Pakistani terrorist group.
