Iran warns to enrich uranium to 20%

Tehran/Vienna: Iran has warned to take the level of uranium enrichment, at the Fordo nuclear project, up to 20%. This was revealed by Iran, to the observer from the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA). This becomes a violation of the nuclear deal signed between Iran and the western countries, in 2015. As per the deal, the level of Uranium enrichment has been restricted to 3.67%. This could also deliver a jolt to President-elect Joe Biden, who has expressed willingness to sign a fresh nuclear deal with Iran. With this, the European countries that stood with Iran, opposing US President Trump also are in trouble.

Iran warns to enrich Uranium up to 20%Nearly a month ago, senior Iranian nuclear scientist Mohsen Fakhrizadeh had been assassinated near Tehran, the capital of Iran. Iran infuriated by the assassination announced increasing the speed of the nuclear program. A law to that effect was passed in the Iranian parliament. Iran informed the IAEA, regarding this, through a letter written on 31st December. The agency spokesman said that the Uranium enrichment would be carried out at the Fordo nuclear plant, where entry is not allowed for the IAEA observers. The spokesman clarified that it has not been specified that when will Iran be initiating the process. Last year, following the nuclear deal’s withdrawal, Iran had announced that the Uranium enrichment level had been raised to 4.5%. As per the western media, in this scenario, Iranian announcement of taking the level of enrichment to 20% is a warning for the United States, Israel and the western countries. The United States and Israel are accusing that the Iranian nuclear program’s objective is making nuclear weapons. For this purpose, Iran will have to take the Uranium enrichment level to 90%.
