Over the last few days, there are nationwide talks over the LAC retreat. As per the recent agreement, India and China will not patrol the LAC. It is claimed that this decision has been taken because of the danger of conflict between the soldiers of both countries if they face each other during the patrol. Both the nations had agreed not to patrol until the military, and political talks about releasing tension on the LAC meet common ground. However, this does not mean that India has surrendered its land to China, assured former army official.

As per the accord, the Chinese army will retreat from Pangong Tso Lake in Ladakh until Finger 8. Moreover, the Indian army is going to return to its post. Hence, this will restore the pre-April situation at the border. Besides, India had been insistently demanding this stand to China during their discussions. So, the former Indian army official drew attention to the fact that China agreed to India and withdrew from the border. Furthermore, the confirmation of Chinese withdrawal from LAC is not as per China’s claim but India’s, acclaimed former Army Director General of Military Operations – DGMO Lt. Gen. Vinod Bhatia.

Also, former Army Chief, V.P. Malik had warned that not patrolling in the Finger 4 and Finger 8 region is essential to avoid conflict. He further added that the criticism of this statement is the outcome of ignorance of the LAC situation. China wanted to deliver a strong warning to India by attempting to invade the border. But China failed utterly, said the former army official as he expressed content on India’s aggressive stance against China. All the more, he said that India should continue with this stance against China on the military and economic level. Simultaneously, he stressed the significance of closely monitoring the Chinese army’s movements and being extremely careful.
