Indian MEA S. Jaishankar holds talks with Israeli President Isaac Herzog & PM Naftali Bennett

Jerusalem – India’s MEA S Jaishankar met with Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett and President Isaac Herzog as part of his visit to Israel. Jaishankar said that the discussions with the Israeli leadership were to utilise full potential on cooperation between the two countries and the geopolitical situation and international developments. MEA Jaishankar claimed that the strategic vision of the Israeli Prime Minister towards India is invaluable.

Important discussions and agreements are expected between the two countries during Jaishankar’s visit, although details are yet to be revealed. Israel is a major supplier of weapons and defence equipment to India. Besides, India has been vocal about extremism and terrorism being a common threat to India and Israel. Both countries have collaborated to counter the threat. MEA Jaishankar speech in Israel echoed the same message.

Jaishankar said that the bilateral cooperation between India and Israel is at a significant level, providing mutual benefit to both countries, bringing newer possibilities. Jaishankar mentioned that both countries need to collaborate to accept the challenges of the new possibilities and take bilateral relation to new heights. Jaishankar also pointed out that the Indian populace is exceptionally keen on establishing excellent cooperation with Israel.

Israeli Prime Minister Bennett said during the discussions with Jaishankar that Israelis are incredibly fond of India and see it as a huge ally. Israel is keen to establish cooperation with India in all sectors and on all fronts. Israeli President Herzog welcomed the MEA Minister’s visit to Israel, referring to India and Israel as two democracies with rich ancient heritage; President Herzog said he believed both countries could achieve a lot in trade, technology, and energy.

Meanwhile, External Affairs Minister Jaishankar said that Prime Minister Modi has extended an invitation to Israeli Prime Minister Bennett to visit India.
