India will contribute majorly in developing a vaccine for Coronavirus; the International Vaccine Institute chief expresses confidence

Seoul/London: The entire world is making frantic efforts to develop a vaccine for Coronavirus. All the leading pharmaceutical companies are competing for this. Despite this, Dr. Jerome Kim, Director General of International Vaccine Institute, claimed that India will make a significant contribution in developing a vaccine for Coronavirus. At the same time, reports are being received that the efforts of two big Pharmaceutical companies in India have reached the pre-clinical stage.

70% of the vaccines used in vaccination campaigns, around the world, are exported from India. Dr. Kim, while talking to a news channel, said that almost all the vaccines consumed by any child in the world are made in India. Dr. Kim claimed that the Indian pharmaceutical companies will have to take the major responsibility, of fulfilling the global demand, once the vaccine for Coronavirus, is ready to use. Dr. Kim expressed confidence that the Indian universities and IT sector will be able to find a solution to the pandemic.

Meanwhile, as per the information given by the World Health Organisation, 60% of the global companies have reached a critical stage in developing the vaccine. The WHO informed that Indian companies, Zydus Cadila and Bharat Biotech, also feature in the list. Moreover, information is also revealed that two independent Indian companies have entered into a tie-up with US and Australian companies, respectively, and have initiated some valuable research.
