The Houthi rebels have continued the attacks on Saudi Arabia, thus violating the ceasefire imposed by the United Nations within only a few days. Houthis had threatened that these attacks would continue in retaliation of the violence perpetrated by Saudi and its allies in Yemen. Houthi spokesman Yahya Saree announced that the Houthi rebels launched missile attacks on Jizan, Najran, Asir, Khamis Mushait and Abha regions of Saudi Arabia on Monday at dawn. Among these, Saudi fighter jets, soldier barracks and patriot missile defence system were targeted at Khamis Mushait. Houthi said that the site of the meeting between Saudi and Yemenis military officials, in the Marib province, was also targeted.

Houthis claimed that Saudi suffered human casualties and property losses in the attack. An Iranian news agency also published a report saying that Saudi suffered immense losses in the attack. But Saudi military dismissed these claims made by the Houthis. As reported by the Saudi news agency, the Saudi army successfully neutralised all these attacks launched by the Houthis. Saudi claimed to have destroyed two missiles and six drones launched by the Houthis. 24 Houthi rebels were killed in action taken by the Saudi military in the Hodeida province after these attacks. The Saudi media is reporting that the Saudi fighter jets are hovering over the Houthi locations.

Civil war flared up in Yemen since 2014, and the Houthi rebels have taken over, disposing of the government in Yemen. After that, Saudi and its Arab allies started a conflict against the Houthis by attacking Yemen. It is claimed that more than 100,000 lives have been lost in this conflict over the last six years. Saudi and its allies are blaming Iran for the Yemenis conflict. Iran is supplying weapons to the Houthi rebels, and last year, Saudi had seized an Iranian ship loaded with weapons. At the same time, Saudi has revealed the evidence to the media that the Houthis are using Iranian ballistic missiles to attack Saudi. Saudi had accused Iran of trying to destabilise the Gulf region, using the Houthi rebels.

Meanwhile, Iran has dismissed the allegations levelled against it. Iranian Foreign Minister Jawad Zarif said that Iran is supplying humanitarian aid to Yemen and will continue to do so.
