Third World WarHong Kong: Chief of the pro-Chinese administration in Hong Kong, Carrie Lam, blamed that the protest against the Chinese government interference and the controversial decisions of the administration has been destroying Hong Kong. The administration also warned that the protests have been making the situation in Hong Kong very dangerous with the speculations of impending major action. But without paying heed to the threats of the administration, the protesters have made their protests more aggressive, bringing the entire system to a grinding halt on Monday.

The people of Hong Kong have been protesting for the last two months, and the controversial bill brought by the pro-Chinese administration has become the root cause for the protests. The agitation which started on the issue of the bill has become more intense and extensive. Nevertheless, the protestors are also becoming aggressive on issues like the use of police force, the decisions of the pro-Chinese administration, the adamant stand of the administration chief and the interference of the Chinese government. The peaceful agitations have now turned violent, and police stations, security agencies and the offices that are the symbol of the Chinese government are now being targeted.

But the protests continuing for the last four days have shown that the people of Hong Kong are not relenting despite the threat. Loud demonstrations are being held in all the parts of Hong Kong, since Friday. Till now the protests in Hong Kong were held for a day or two. But the protests are being conducted continuously since Friday, and the protestors are targeting different parts of the city.

The protests receive support even from the employees of the Hong Kong administration, and these employees declared a strike on Monday. This severely paralysed all the administrative work, railway and airline services. It was reported that more than 100 incoming flights to Hong Kong had to be cancelled. The railways in the city have stopped so also the road transport due to the blockades by the protestors.

The aggressiveness of the protestors and the support they are receiving from the administrative staff had become a significant problem for the pro-Chinese administration. Therefore, Chief of administration Carrie Lam warned that protestors that the city was in a dangerous situation. As per analysts, this warning by Lam is a threat of the next major action by the pro-Chinese administration.
