Five women killed in Dagestan, Russia in a shootout, ISIS accepts responsibility

Moscow: Five women were killed in a shootout at a religious place in the Caucasus region of Russia. The Islamic State (IS) group said it was behind the attack and claimed that the terrorist belonged to the Chechnya, province. Last few weeks have seen an alarming increase in the attacks from ISIS in Russia.

DagestanOn Sunday, in the Kizlyar city of the Dagestan province, a terrorist entered in the crowd in a compound of a worship place and started attacking the people with a knife followed by shooting. At least five women were killed along with two security guards. After this, the gunman, tried to enter into the worship place but the people who had become alert due to the gun firing, locked the door from within thus avoiding more casualties. The attacker was further eliminated by police fire.

When the Khilafat was announced by the ISIS, radicalized youngsters from all over the world had headed for Iraq and Syria. The youngsters from Russia’s Chechnya province were also a part of this. Recently ISIS had made certain videos public about the attacks to be conducted on European countries which showed youngsters from Chechnya too.
