EU will collapse if no action is taken against Poland, warns senior EU Official

Brussels/Warsaw – The European Union (EU) will collapse if no action is taken to counter the challenge posed by Poland to the European Union, Vera Jourova, a senior European Union official, has warned. In the last few months, the Brexit issue has been the subject of constant controversy between Britain and the federation. At the same time, it has been revealed that some countries, such as Hungary, are dissatisfied with the federation’s functioning. Poland, European Union, Brexit,Poland’s ruling Law and Justice Party has repeatedly accused the European Union of trying to impose additional powers on Poland. Against the background of these allegations, Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki had filed a petition in the country’s Supreme Court. The Polish Constitutional Court has given its verdict in the matter. The Polish Constitutional Court ruled that the provisions of the EU treaty were inconsistent with Polish law. This is considered the first time that a member country has openly challenged the legal framework of the federation.

The challenge sparked speculation that Poland would take an exit from the Union. The federation has reacted strongly to this, with senior official Vera Jourova’s warning being part of the response. ‘The decision by the Polish Constitutional Court signals the beginning of a new phase. Therefore, it is important to take action against it. The common principle of law in the European Union must be followed in all the member countries of the Union. If that doesn’t happen, the process of collapse of the Union will begin’, Vera Jourova warned.

Poland, European Union, Brexit,In the last few years, there have been clashes between Poland and the federation over various issues. The ruling party in Poland represents traditional Europe and opposes the Union’s liberal ideology. Poland had openly resented the federation’s policies on several issues, from media freedom to refugees. Poland has also opposed linking aid to member states with other issues, which has become a vital issue.

Poland became a member of the Union in 2004 and is known as one of the leading countries in Central Europe. Poland’s economy is closely linked to other member states of the Union. Against this background, analysts claim that if Poland decides to pull out, the economies of these countries could collapse. At the same time, various surveys have revealed that the Polish people are opposed to leaving the Union, and there have been protests in Poland this week in support of the Union.
