New Delhi: Chief of Army Staff General Manoj Mukund Naravane warned ‘The Indian Army has foiled the plot to change the situation on the Line of Actual Control (LAC), through unilateral actions. We will not let the martyrdom of 20 soldiers in the Galwan Valley, go in vain. The Indian Army will not allow any jolt to Indian sovereignty and security, even in the future. No one should test the endurance of the Indian Army.’ The Army Chief was addressing the Army Day parade. The Army Chief also lambasted Pakistan saying that there are anywhere between 300 and 400 terrorists across the Kashmir border, waiting to infiltrate into India. Only a day ago, Defence Minister Raj Nath Singh had warned that even if the biggest world power hurt the Indian pride, it will face the strongest retaliation. It is being said that this was a warning for China. The Army Chief also seems to be reprimanding China on the same issue. The Army Chief targeted China, saying that the Indian soldiers foiled the plot to change the LAC situation through unilateral actions. The Army Chief seems to have delivered a message is apt words saying don’t test the endurance of the Indian soldiers. Since the last few days, the Chinese activities have reportedly increased in the region near the LAC. Indications that China is making one more attempt to supersede India, in this sector, are being received and therefore, India is consistently warning China regarding this.
Eight rounds of talks have been concluded with China to resolve the dispute over the LAC in Ladakh. The 9th round also is likely to be held soon. India is committed to resolve this issue through diplomatic dialogue. But General Naravane has warned that India will not tolerate unilateral actions to change the situation in the sector. But the Pakistani addiction for terrorism continues. Also, the country has become helpless because of this. There are between 300 and 400 terrorists waiting across the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu-Kashmir, to infiltrate into India. The Army Chief made crushing accusations that Pakistan is trying to help the terrorists by smuggling weapons through drones and tunnels.
The incidence of violation of ceasefire has increased by 44% on the LOC in Kashmir. But the Indian retaliation is powerful. Last year, 200 terrorists were killed during the counter-terrorism campaign undertaken by the Indian Army in Jammu-Kashmir. General Naravane expressed satisfaction saying this has resulted in a reduction in violence in Jammu-Kashmir.
Meanwhile, the Indian Army is being supplied ultramodern weapons and defence equipment. The use of Artificial Intelligence, Blockchain Technology, Quantum Computing, Directed Energy Weapons and Swarm Drones has increased in the defence sector. The Army Chief revealed significant information that Indian Army is collaborating with educational institutions like the IITs for this purpose.
