Talks failed with China regarding border dispute: Defence Minister Rajnath Singh

New Delhi: – Defence Minister Rajnath Singh has said that the talks with China, regarding the dispute over the border at the LAC in Ladakh, have failed. Thus, the Defence Minister indicated that the military deployment would continue from both sides and there are no signs of the tension diffusing. At the same time, the Defence Minister warned that India can take action against terrorists based in another country, crossing the border. The Defence Minister seems to have issued a warning to Pakistan with this statement. Eight rounds of talks were held to find a solution to the LAC’s border dispute in Ladakh. A few weeks ago, both the countries concurred on resolving the border dispute. But now, the Defence Minister has said that the talks in the matter have failed. Therefore, the military deployment will continue from both the countries and the possibility of diffusing the tension in the region has faded further.

The Defence Minister said that no country in the world can encroach on Indian territory, while answering a question posed by a journalist, with respect to Chinese expansionism. The Defence Minister delivered a message that India has the courage and capability to defend its territory and India will not hesitate to use it against China if the situation demands. The Defence Minister has issued such stern warnings to China, even in the past.

Meanwhile, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh pointed out that the Indian eyes are keenly monitoring Pakistan’s terrorist activities while talking about China’s border dispute. Rajnath Singh said that the Indian defence forces can cross the border and take action against the terrorists. A few days ago, senior officials from the Indian military had claimed that Pakistan sponsored terrorists are waiting across the Line of Control (LOC), to intrude into India. These officials also expressed a dense possibility of Pakistan starting a conflict, by initiating some action on the LOC, to divert the attention from its internal problems.
