Two Kurdish groups clash on the Iraq border 

Irbil: – Conflict is raging between the Kurdish groups, Peshmerga, responsible for the security of the autonomous Kurdistan province and PKK, declared a terrorist group by Turkey. The Kurdistan Prime Minister criticised the attack on Peshmerga in strong words. Whereas, the Kurdistan government has demanded that the United States and allies should denounce the attack. Meanwhile, YKK the Kurdish organisation from Syria, affiliated to PKK, is supported by the United States. Therefore, it will be important to see, as to what the United States adopts stand in the Kurdish dispute.

The Kurdish people scattered over Iraq, Iran, Turkey, Syria and Armenia are demanding a separate Kurdish state. The Kurds in Iraq and Syria have intensified the resistance, since the last few years. The Kurdish people from Iraq have announced an autonomous Kurdish province having a large Kurdish population and this province is ruled independently by the Kurdish people. The security of this province is not with the Iraqi soldiers and the armed group Peshmerga is responsible for the security. Peshmerga is known as the organisation fighting very tenaciously, that expelled the terrorist organisation like IS.   

Since the last few days, attacks are being launched on the Peshmerga soldiers from the Syrian border region. Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) and Peoples Protection Group (YPG) are the two Kurdish organisations carrying out the attacks. PKK and YPG want an entry into Iraq and Peshmerga are opposing them. Therefore, the conflict has sparked between the two groups. Moreover, it is claimed that two soldiers have been killed in the conflict. After that, Peshmerga and PKK-YPG groups are exchanging fire; the Iraqi Kurdistan government has appealed to the international community to stop this conflict. The United States supports PKK-YPG groups in Syria. The United States had taken cooperation from this terrorist organisation for the fight against IS. Turkey had criticised the cooperation between the United States and PKK.  

It is being said that Peshmerga and Turkey have joined hands in banning the entry for PKK-YPG in Iraq. Peshmerga and Turkey have set up new security posts and bases, in the northern border region of Iraq. Therefore, Turkey is worried that if the northern Iraqi border is opened for the PKK-YPG groups, the new security posts and bases will come under threat. Turkey has established cooperation with Peshmerga; for this purpose, igniting a conflict between the Kurdish groups.
